Peter Sutherland was born in April 2 1962 in West Newbury, Massachusetts. As a child he was raised in a home where his father wasn't around very much. When he was he was a loving parent, unless he had been drinking. His father was a mean drunk and it was usually his mother who got the brunt of any abuse, although Peter didn't escape every incident lightly. At the age of eighteen he joint the police academy determined to help people who were in the same position he and his mother had been in. He was a well loved recruit who made a lot of friends from day one, and with a lot of hard study and help from his fellow class mates he past top of his class.
Up until his mothers death Peter was quite happy to be an office walking the beat or driving around in his own local area. After she died he felt he needed a new start and put in not only for his detectives shield but a transfer to Washington DC. He gt the transfer and a month later got his detectives badge and joint the homicide unit.
He was quickly becoming a well loved and well respected officer of the law. It was while he was working a case that he met a young woman who quickly became his wife. Once married and with a child on the way, being a homicide detective began to lose it's thrill for him. Over the next few years he rose in the ranks, but he still wasn't happy being in DC with his young family. It was then he was offered a job in Texas as the captain of his own unit. He jumped at the chance knowing his wife had family down that area.
He hadn't been in Texas long when his world was turned upside down when he saw something he should never have seen. Looking out his window at three in the morning he saw a male bite into another males neck. Reaching for his gun, badge, and phone, he paused as the male lifted his head. From what he could see from the street light the man's eyes had turned jet black and his mouth was filled with blood. As the male turned his head and stared directly at Peter he moved out of sight and took a couple of deep breaths before looking out the window once more. Neither male was anywhere to be seen.
Unsure of if he was losing it he took a year off from work and upon returning he wanted a change so moved from the local PD to the local Marshals offices. Now at the age of Fifty-five-five he is still well loved and respected by all he works with. His secret of what he saw that night he has only ever shared with his wife, the shrink he went to when he though the might be losing it and one young up and comer under his watch. One Addison King who for some reason seems to have a knack at picking out cases that have a ring of something not natural about them.
